Changing The World By Connecting With Life In The Wild
The Monarch Butterfly, one of the dozens of migratory species tracked by Journey North

It's a novel approach to “citizen science.” Journey North is a program involving nearly one million students and educators in a continental effort to track the seasonal migratory patterns of North American wildlife. Program founder and director Elizabeth Howard relays the inspiring details. Click here for a selection of migration maps. We also acknowledge the 74th observance of National Wildlife Week, created by the National Wildlife Federation in 1938. NWF staff members Eliza Russell and Roxanne Paul speak with Sam Litzinger about activities surrounding the event. After that it’s BirdNote, and a surprisingly upbeat report on the well-being of wetlands species.
