Recording Bats – the Sounds of Echolocation

Dr. Paul Moosman is a bat biologist at the Virginia Military Institute, and he particularly enjoys offering classes with a field component. Currently this means taking a group of students out at night to catch bats and glue a tiny radio transmitter onto them. It is part of research project designed to learn more about the information bats perceive with ultrasound – otherwise known as echolocation.
